Solution:
Next step is to review stored versions of the folder. Simply right click on the folder that the file/files are contained. Then select properties and go to the "Previous Versions" tab.
We can revert entire folders by selecting the appropriate "Previous Version" record and clicking ok, which is usually best practice when the entire folder has been removed.
IMPORTANT: If it is a singular file it is recommended to instead go into the folder (click previous version folder) and copy the individual file back to the file share. This is to avoid overwriting new files recently added to that folder.
